Club Sailing at Level 2

Hello everyone,

We are very excited with the Covid Alert Level change to Level 2 on Tuesday night, as this means we can begin our sailing season.

Learn to Sail

With only half a term remaining there is not enough time to complete our Learn to Sail program so we have decided to not run the program this term before Christmas. We are also having an issue with coach availability this term, with several of our coaches in the middle of studying and sitting their NZQA exams. We are looking forward to restarting the program next term in February.

Level 3 Learn to Race

Will start on Tuesday 23rd November at 5.30pm with Rik continuing coaching.

Youth Program

Youth Program will begin on Thursday 18th Nov night at 5.30pm – 8pm. Fee for the short term will be $30 per sailor.

For the new sailors – make sure to bring a spring/short sleeve wetsuit (sailors will get wet), towel, change of clothes etc.

Club provides buoyancy aids and spray jackets are available.

Sunday Sailing

Sunday Sailing will resume this weekend, with a 12.30pm briefing and club boat allocation.

There is no additional boat usage charge for the Youth Program sailors to use the club boats on the weekend club sailing days.

For club members there is a boat usage fee of $10 per sailor for club boats (payable on the day).

Covid Level 2 still requires social distancing, use of the Club QR codes for contact tracing, and staying home if unwell.

See you down at the lake,
